Mixed Roof System - Midnight Shingles and White Polyfresko, Los Angeles

This Los Angeles project combines two visible roof systems on one property: a white Polyfresko low-slope section at the center and dark Midnight shingle planes around it. The aerial photos make the contrast clear and show how the two systems meet around the home's additions, equipment, and perimeter edges.

Mixed Roof System - Midnight Shingles and White Polyfresko, Los Angeles: Project Notes

This project is a clear example of why a mixed roof should be planned as one coordinated system. The supplied note describes a Midnight Polyfresko combination. From above, the property presents a dark shingle perimeter around a bright white Polyfresko section at the center.

The two materials serve different roof geometries. The white Polyfresko area covers the low-slope portion, while the Midnight shingle planes carry the pitched sections around it. The aerial views show the contrast in color and texture, along with the transitions where the systems meet at the edges of the central roof.

There are also several practical details in the finished record: a large rooftop mechanical unit, pipe penetrations, vents, and multiple changes in roof direction. Those details are why the transition between a membrane roof and a shingle roof matters. Each system needs its own perimeter and flashing logic, while the shared edge has to be closed off without leaving a weak point between materials.

The eleven photos include overhead views of the full composition, closer views of the white membrane field, and views of the Midnight shingle sections. Together they show the project as a complete mixed-system roof rather than a single-material replacement.
